Brett Moffitt joins GMS Racing in Gander Outdoors Truck Series

GMS Racing announced Thursday that defending NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series champion Brett Moffitt will drive for the team in 2019.

Moffitt, 26, will replace Johnny Sauter on the Maury Gallagher-owned team, which announced Wednesday that the veteran driver would not return to the organization this season.

Moffitt matched Sauter with a series-best six wins last season, including a title-clinching victory in the Homestead-Miami finale in November. He became a free agent when Hattori Racing Enterprises opted not to bring him back to its No. 16 ride.
