Busch wins Xfinity for chance at Texas tripleheader sweep

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Kyle Busch rocketed in front on the final restart with six laps remaining and went on to win the NASCAR Xfinity race Saturday, setting up the possibility of a tripleheader weekend sweep in Texas.

Busch won for the third time in four Xfinity starts this season and got his 95th career victory in the series. He extended his NASCAR record to 203 wins overall, including his 55th career Trucks Series win Friday night.

He will start 16th for Sunday’s Cup race at the 1 ½-mile Texas track, where he won last spring. His 53 career Cup wins include three in Texas.

Busch finished ahead of Tyler Reddick in the Xfinity race after both took fuel only on the final stop after the ninth and final caution.

This is the second time this year Busch will go into the Cup race after winning Trucks and Xfinity races in the same weekend. At his home track in Las Vegas four weeks ago, he finished third in the Cup race after a mid-race speeding penalty.

Busch has twice completed NASCAR tripleheader weekend sweeps, both at Bristol — in 2010 and 2017.
