Track: Pocono Raceway (tri-oval, 2.5 miles).

Race distance: 400 miles, 160 laps.

Last year: Martin Truex Jr. won at Pocono last June.

Last race: Truex took the Coca Cola 600, his second win in three tries.

Fast facts: Last year’s win at the “Tricky Triangle” got Truex going on a hot streak. It kick-started a stretch of three victories in six starts. …Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Joey Logano’s crew chiefs were fined $10,000 each for lug nut violations following last week’s race in Charlotte. Stenhouse finished fifth, his best result of 2019, and Logano was second.

POCONO GREEN 250

Site: Long Pond.

Track: Pocono Raceway.

Race distance: 250 miles, 100 laps.

Last year: Kyle Busch won the spring event at Pocono after starting fourth.

Last race: Tyler Reddick claimed first for the second time in three races.

Fast facts: Drivers qualified for the series championship have won the last five starts. Christopher Bell, like Reddick, has two victories, and Cole Custer won at Richmond. …Reddick, who also has 10 top 10s in 11 starts, has a commanding 65-point lead over Bell and is 103 points clear of Custer. But Bell has 20 playoff points, and Custer has 14. Reddick’s 13 playoff points rank third.

Race distance: 164.5 miles, 70 laps.

Last year: Scott Dixon and Ryan Hunter-Reay won in Detroit.

Last race: Simon Pagenaud took the pole and won the 103rd Indianapolis 500.

Fast facts: After not winning in 2018, Pagenaud has finished first in back-to-back races. He also took first on the road course at Indy. …Last year’s racing at Belle Isle was some of the cleanest of the season. The doubleheader drew just three caution flags. …Pagenaud enters the weekend with a one-point lead over Josef Newgarden atop the series. Alexander Rossi is third, 22 points back of Pagenaud.

NHRA DRAG RACING

ROUTE 66 NATIONALS

Site: Elwood, Illinois

Schedule: Friday, qualifying, 7:15 & 9:45 p.m.; Saturday, qualifying, 4:30 & 7 p.m.; Sunday, finals, 5 p.m., FS1.

Track: Route 66 Raceway.

Last year: Clay Millican took first in Top Fuel.

Last race: Steve Torrence and Ron Capps won in Virginia.

Fast facts: Robert Hight (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin (Pro Stock) and Matt Smith (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won outside of Chicago in 2018. …Torrence set the track record at 3.677 seconds (333.58 MPH) at Route 66 a year ago. … Coughlin, a five-time world champion, has six wins at Elwood in Pro Stock. That’s the most of any driver, topping Tony Schumacher’s five in Top Fuel.
